Kona Intensive Training Weekend on actual race course

Clinic Objective

To assist athletes in meeting the challenge of the Ironman Hawaii 70.3.

The ETT program is designed to provide an organized training plan for all levels of athletes. Our plan for you includes instruction in swimming, cycling, and running technique.

Training includes speed, hill & endurance workouts; turbo training, bricks, stretching & seminars. BOCA Hawaii will help prepare you to meet the challenges you set for yourself, as well as help you train smart and safely. You will be fully prepared physically and mentally to do your best race.

Method of Instruction

In general (check schedule on daily basis):

  • Tuesdays: Bike & run
  • Thursdays: Swim & run
  • Saturdays: Ocean swims, distance bike rides, long runs, brick workouts & practice triathlons.

At the start of each week, a weekly workout schedule will be provided to all participants via email.



  • Swim goggles
  • Swimming suit

  • Bicycle
  • Helmet (mandatory – must be worn when cycling)
  • Cycling shorts, jersey and cycling shoes
  • Flat tire kit, pump and bicycle wrench
  • Protective eyewear and gloves
  • Water bottle(s) and body glide
  • Head and tail lights (important)
  • Turbo trainer (recommended)
  • Heart rate monitor (recommended)


  • Running shoes

  • Anti friction products (Body glide, Blistershield or Belgium Butter)
