About Hawaii Cycling Training

Hawaii Cycling Training is dedicated to:

  1. promoting cycling in Hawaii.
  2. assisting each BOCA member in developing his / her cycling potential for training and / or racing, according to his / her lifestyle and individual cycling goals.
  3. creating a BOCA Cycling Team, one that promotes safe, effective cycling, and offers support and encouragement to its team members.

The HCT program is designed to provide an organized training plan covering:

  • bicycle safety
  • bicycle technique
  • time trial technique
  • speed, hill & endurance workouts
  • turbo training
  • stretching
  • seminars

  • Bicycle
  • Helmet (mandatory, must be worn when cycling)
  • Cycling shorts, cycling shoes, jersey
  • Jacket, rain jacket
  • Flat tire kit, pump, bicycle wrench
  • Protective eyewear, gloves
  • Water bottle(s), body glide
  • Head & tail lights (important)
  • Turbo trainer (recommended)
  • Heart rate monitor (optional)
  • Power watts (optional)
